£5000 Grant to the Charity from Wellesbourne Parish Council

Friends of Hastings House (FOHH) is a new charity serving the residents of Wellesbourne, Kineton and the surrounding villages.  The charity will be raising funds to provide services and facilities for patients of Hastings House Medical Centre, which are over and above those provided by the NHS and Social Services.

Pictured here is Eileen Edwards, a Trustee of the charity, receiving £5000 from Cllr Anne Prior of Wellesbourne Parish Council. This generous grant will primarily help to fund the work of Wendy Walters also pictured (far right). Wendy is a Wellbeing Navigator, and she works with individuals and groups locally who need additional support, particularly the elderly and those who are socially isolated.

Wendy recently helped organise a ‘Holiday at Home’ event for individuals who for one reason or another are unable to go away on a proper holiday and a Jubilee celebration at Ettington Lodge care home. This event was held on Friday 3rd June and included live music from 1960’s style live band Shadowfax, and was attended by more than 80 people, including customers of Ettington Lodge and members of the local community.
